Headless talent acquisition solution for Škoda Auto
Škoda Auto is the largest car manufacturer in the Czech Republic and one of the country’s largest employers. It employs around 37,000 people in Czechia and in 2025 once again received the Employer of the Year award (returning to first place after a three-year break). It regularly ranks among the most popular employers, so it was important to take its careers portal to the next level. In 2021, the company decided to migrate from its original custom CMS to the standardised headless CMS Kontent.ai to connect SAP and other HR systems with an intuitive user experience and support the brand’s employer branding strategy over the long term.
What needed to change
Škoda Auto has consistently ranked among the most popular employers. In 2025, it even won the Employer of the Year award again, after a three-year break. However, maintaining this position in a competitive environment, where companies are increasingly competing for skilled workers, requires more than just a good reputation. It also requires a modern, intuitive digital experience for applicants.
The original custom CMS solution for the careers portal could no longer keep pace with the requirements for connecting to SAP and other HR systems, nor with growing demands for user experience. The project therefore aimed to complete a migration to the standardised headless CMS Kontent.ai—a solution capable of integrating with SAP and third-party systems, offering scalable cloud hosting and bespoke forms, while providing long-term support for the brand’s employer branding.

Our approach
We built a new careers portal on the headless CMS Kontent.ai using the ASP.NET Core 8 framework, including full development, testing, content, UX and graphic design. We implemented 80 components in two language versions and integrated the portal with Škoda Auto’s SAP HR module and the Teamio system, enabling vacancy and candidate data to flow automatically between the systems.
The Škoda Auto careers portal has continued to evolve and expand since its launch. It recently underwent a complete facelift to better reflect the brand’s visual identity, with additional functionality added for candidates and the HR team. One of the biggest development steps was the Škoda EDU project: from January 2023, we designed the UX/UI and created a sub-portal with a user-friendly, interactive structure. It offers educational materials for teaching and self-study, opening up new opportunities for anyone interested in a career at Škoda Auto. The solution runs on Azure Cloud hosting with Azure Front Door, Fastly, Azure AI Search and Azure Defender for security and performance.
What the project delivered
We created a completely new recruitment engine for Škoda Auto: a portal with 80 implemented components in two language versions, connecting SAP and other HR systems with an intuitive user experience. Since its launch, the portal has continued to evolve, undergone a complete facelift and expanded to include the Škoda EDU sub-portal for educational materials.
For a company that has long been one of the most attractive employers in the country (Employer of the Year 2025, and previously Employer of the Decade), this is an important investment in digital employer branding. The first impression a candidate forms of a company is increasingly created on its careers website.
