One partner, over 50 countries: long-term care for Heel’s web ecosystem
Web presentationConstant support for Heel’s global digital world
Heel is an international pharmaceutical company specialising in natural medicines (combined homeopathic remedies), with products available in more than 50 countries. With almost 90 years of experience (founded in 1936, headquartered in Baden-Baden), the company is ranked among the leaders in its field in industry market reports. Managing such an extensive multilingual web ecosystem requires a reliable technology partner. For Heel, that partner has long been Bluesoft as a Kentico Gold Partner. This is not a one-off website delivery, but the long-term development, maintenance and growth of the entire ecosystem.

What needed to change
Heel was not looking for a one-off website, but for a long-term technology partner to manage and further develop its extensive ecosystem of websites. The scope is considerable: Heel’s portfolio includes more than 700 homeopathic combination products in over 4,500 country-specific packs (for both human and veterinary medicine), and approximately 70% of the company’s sales are generated internationally. This is why multi-site management and multilingual capabilities are crucial. This is not a matter of cosmetics, but of genuine data and content complexity across dozens of countries.
The ecosystem must also be fast, stable and secure, while continuously expanding with new modules without outages and with a guaranteed level of service.

What Heel needed
• Managing multiple websites and locations from a single foundation (multi-site management)
• Long-term development and maintenance of the ecosystem
• Implementation of new modules
• Multilingual support across dozens of countries
• International collaboration and teamwork

How we approached it
We approached Heel as a long-term partner, not as a supplier of a single website. The ecosystem is built on Kentico Xperience 13 CMS and the ASP.NET Core 6 framework, with infrastructure in Microsoft Azure (Azure Database, Azure Storage, Azure Front Door). Thanks to Kentico’s native support for multi-site and multilingual functionality, we manage websites for dozens of countries consistently from a single foundation and gradually expand them with new modules.
We address performance and loading speed, among other things, by automatically converting images to the more efficient WebP format; the entire operation is covered by a service-level agreement (SLA). As a Kentico Gold Partner, we bring technical expertise, sound advice and fast time to market, consistently meeting milestones over the long term and adapting to Heel’s complex multi-site needs.

What the project delivered
The result is a stable, continuously developed web ecosystem that Heel can rely on across more than 50 countries. The collaboration operates under a development + maintenance + SLA model: Bluesoft delivers solutions continuously, meets milestones and responds flexibly to the needs of the international team.
The digital ecosystem is playing an increasingly important role in the sector. According to industry estimates, the European natural medicines market is growing at a double-digit rate (CAGR of approx. 11.6%), with the main driver being the shift of sales and communication to digital channels. (These are market data, not Heel’s results.)
