Elkov Elektro is a leading Czech wholesaler of electrical materials, lighting, photovoltaic systems, and tools. With over 30 sales warehouses across the Czech Republic, nearly 700 employees, and a turnover exceeding 5.5 billion CZK, it is among the key market players. The original e-shop was designed exclusively for B2B customers and was only later opened to the public. However, the system no longer met modern UX standards or the needs for further development. The goal was therefore to create a new portal on the Xperience by Kentico platform, divided into separate B2B and B2C channels.

The first phase – the launch of the B2C portal www.elkov.cz – was successfully completed, while the old solution still serves B2B customers. The next phase, focused on the B2B part, is planned for 2026.

A blend of two Kentico worlds – stability and innovation in one solution.

In development, we harnessed the power of two CMS – Xperience by Kentico and Kentico Xperience 13, as native E-Commerce integration in XbyK was still in development. Thanks to the officially supported integration between these systems, we transferred robust E-Commerce features from the older version while leveraging modern possibilities of the new DXP. Moreover, the open-source licence enabled extensive customisation and flexible growth.
