The transformation of Prague’s legendary fine-dining restaurant, online too
Zátiší Group a.s. is one of the leading Czech companies in gastronomy. Since its establishment in 1991, it has grown into one of the country’s largest hospitality groups, now comprising V Zátiší, Mlýnec and Bellevue restaurants, the Europe-wide Zátiší Catering business, and the Fresh & Tasty division for corporate and school catering. The group focuses on running premium restaurants, catering and events and is known for its emphasis on quality and a personal approach to every guest. We have a long-standing partnership with the Zátiší Group team, so this time too we wanted to deliver a solution that would meet their high standards. The new website for V Zátiší restaurant, one of Prague’s very first fine-dining establishments, was created as part of the restaurant’s own refurbishment. The aim was to present a modern digital face before its doors reopened to guests.
What needed to change
After renovating its restaurant, Zátiší Group wanted to refresh its digital presence too. It needed to be modern, elegant and easy to manage, matching the high standards of the group, which operates, among other things, exclusive catering for the Prague Congress Centre and has previously delivered events such as the Czech EU Presidency, UEFA EURO 2016 broadcasts and the NATO Summit. The original website, running on the outdated Kentico platform, no longer offered the flexibility required by such a demanding client.
Time was also a crucial requirement. The new website had to be created as part of the restaurant renovation and completed precisely when its doors reopened to guests. Alongside an intuitive, clear user interface for editors, it was necessary to provide regular maintenance, long-term technical support, low operating costs and efficient content management without requiring intervention from the IT team.

How we proceeded
We chose the open-source Umbraco platform as a replacement for the outdated Kentico solution. Umbraco enables simple content management, reduces operating costs and creates opportunities for the website’s future development. We built the complete solution on the ASP.NET Core 9 framework with Entity Framework, including front-end and back-end development, UX/UI design and content structure, SEO optimisation and Google Analytics implementation.
Thanks to efficient collaboration and the client’s clear vision, we managed to create and launch the new website in just five weeks. Exactly according to plan, so it would be ready when the restaurant reopened its doors to guests after the renovation. We automatically converted images to WebP format and implemented SeoToolkit to manage and measure SEO metrics. The result is a stylish website that combines design, performance and functionality as naturally as V Zátiší’s cuisine itself brings flavours and experiences together.
What the project delivered
We launched the new website for V Zátiší restaurant in just five weeks, with 100% responsive design for all devices and intuitive content management powered by the Umbraco headless CMS. It also offers lower operating costs than the original Kentico solution. The website brings the atmosphere of V Zátiší into the online world, just as the restaurant reopened its doors after refurbishment.
According to the client, the website precisely matches the approved graphic design and met expectations both technically and from a user perspective. For a group with standards at the level of Zátiší Group, this is significant confirmation of the quality of the delivery.
